the value ecology

We want you to succeed, but we want the same for ourselves and for the larger food community as well. In other words, win-win-win. It’s not a zero-sum game.

Sometimes that means an exchange that goes beyond money and metrics. If we can benefit from a client relationship in a way that supports the collective good, there’s room for discussion about different forms of ‘payment’. Job satisfaction, increased food security, new knowledge, environmental stewardship—these are all ways for the ecology to gain value.

That’s not to say that we don’t need money. Everyone does in this world. But if there’s another kind of contribution that you can make, one that keeps things moving around in the collective ecology of value, let’s talk.

On occasion, we might also accept a case of wine as payment, or some nice bread.
