Farmers Market Research Project

Welcome to the Farmers' Market Research Project wiki, featuring the findings generated over three months of market visits from August to October 2006 in North America, Ireland, the U.K., and Italy. Working in collaboration with the organizations listed above, the research team examined the markets' best practices--what was working, what still needed to be improved, and what recommendations market vendors and administrators would have for communities looking to set up new markets.

This wiki is currently being used as a demonstration tool during Terra Madre 2006, a world congress of food communities organized by Slow Food in Italy. It is hoped that it can become an online tool for collaboration and development on farmers' markets worldwide.
